Lord Ganesh (The Elephant God) is a Lord of wisdom and the remover of all obstacles. He is the first God to pray and to seek blessings from before starting any work or worship.

Do you know, we can learn various life & management lessons just by observing him?

Let’s analyze and view his body parts in a different perspective, interpret, and then learn together.

1. Elephant’s Head – Unleash The Unlimited Power of Your Brain

Elephants are among the world’s most intelligent animals, with its brain containing 300 billion neurons and similar to humans’ like neuron network and lobes. No wonder, Lord Shiv picked the best replacement for Ganesh’s human head. Ganesh’s big head indicates “Unleash the unlimited power of your brain.” You are what you believe. Let me take you through a story. A young elephant was unable to break away from a rope tied to its leg because of less strength and subsequently, even after gaining strength in adulthood, does not try to break away. Why? As the limitation already accepted in its brain. If you do not manage your thoughts well and bound by such beliefs and limits, it can keep you from achieving success. So think beyond the boundaries and enforced negative beliefs of the society, always. Think positive.

2. Ears & Eyes – Keep Eyes & Ears Open And Be Alert

Ganesh’s enormous ears can recognize even the lowest frequency sound and his tiny eyes can cover a wide angle of vision.

It indicates “Keep your eyes and ears open.”

Stay alert. Nevertheless, in the ever-changing landscape of any industry about knowledge and latest trends, one needs to be alert, stay up-to-date and learn continuously. It also signifies the importance of listening and visual aids to acquire new things efficiently.

3. Mouth – Speak Less, Do More

Ganesh’s small mouth indicates “Speak Less, Do More.”

Self-explanatory. Use your eyes, ears, and brain to observe more and then do more using the rest of the body. Talk only, when it’s asked and adding value to any situation.

4. Trunk – Be Yourself & Build Upon What You Have

Ganesh’s trunk is a weird yet a vital body part to perform breathing, lifting heavy weights, making sounds, reaching to the things at height and deep in the water and so on.

It indicates “Be yourself. Start where you are with what you have.”

We might do what seemed unachievable and challenging, by leveraging what we have, wisely and creatively. Let me explain it with another quick story.

A soldier lost his left arm in WWII. Later he joined a martial art course. His teacher taught him only one move for the whole year, and he was quite dissatisfied. After winning a competition, he realized that because of this single move he became invincible, as the only way to turn it down, was to grab his left arm (non-existent). Whoa!

Build upon your natural talents or even weaknesses. Turn them into your strengths. You can always observe the never-ending enthusiasm of Para Olympics games as an inspiration.

5. Broken Tusk – Sacrifice The Redundant To Achieve A Big Purpose

While writing the text of Mahabharat, told by Maharshi Ved Vyas, Ganesh’s pen split into two. However, he broke his one of the tusks to use it as a pen to continue the writing while bearing immense pain.

Ganesh’s broken tusk teaches us that to achieve something big and purposeful, never think twice to sacrifice your bad habits or redundant possessions.
