On the day of Nom, Chhadi Utsav is celebrated.
Youth of the Bhoi (Jadav), Kharwa and Valmiki communities, dressed in
traditional and special costumes, then called Chhadidars, swing about 30 feet
tall decorated sticks (Chhadi).
The Chhadi is swung on the palm of the hand, waist, forehead, shoulder
and teeth with praising the lords with Jaj Ghogavir, Jay Meghraja and Jay
Chhadimata.
શ્રાવણ વદ નોમના દિને ભરૂચના ભોઇ (જાદવ), ખારવા, તેમજ વાલ્મિકિ સમાજ દ્વારા
શહેરના સોનેરી મહેલથી છડી યાત્રા કાઢવામાં આવે છે.
આશરે ૩0 ફૂટ ઊંચા છડીઓને ત્રણેય સમાજના અગ્રણી યુવાનો
ભકિતસભર માહોલમાં શરીરના વિવિધ અંગો પર રાખીને ઝુલાવે છે.
આ અવસરે જય ઘોઘાવીર, જય મેઘરાજ અને જય છડીમાતાના નાદથી સમગ્ર વાતાવરણ ગુંજી ઉઠે
છે.
